Organised by the School of Arts and Social Sciences, this year's edition of the biennial Language in Singapore forum focuses on Storying Change: Narratives of Today and Tomorrow. The theme of change aims to capture narratives of shifting landscapes in the languages, identities and cultures of Singapore brought on by factors such as the rise of globalisation, increase in immigration, advances in economy and emphasis on skills upgrading. The forum will explore stories at the national, societal and individual levels. Speakers from the fields of language, literature and translation will share narratives about changes in society, policies or practices in relation to language use.
