Peer Mentoring

The Career Development Office trains students to be Teaching Assistants (TA) to conduct various Peer Mentoring Workshops such as Excel, Python, Photoshop, and many more (please refer to table below) to their fellow peers. We believe that these workshops allow TAs to build up their confidence and presentation skills and at the same time, inspire their peers to be like them.

PhotoshopWorkshop on imaging and graphic designs, from photo editing and compositing to digital painting, animation, graphic design and to design your Creative Resume.
IllustratorWorkshop on creating drawings, illustrations, and artwork, from sketching of personal identity/logo/graphic/stickers to applying designed logo to name card/resume/postcard including 3D and infographics.
Premiere ProWorkshop onvideo creation to editing, from pitch/concept proposal to storyboarding, animation and video shoot.
Python ProgrammingWorkshop on writing codes to generate insights and create data visualisation from large chunks of data, including stock price correlation analysis.
Machine Learning ProgrammingWorkshop on writing codes to train machine to make decisions based on pre-defined algorithms, for example, facial recognition and mood recognition from voluminous internet posts. Prior knowledge of Python Programming is required as more advanced concepts, for example, intuition for machine learning using vectorization of data and linear/log/multi-class log regressions.
