GIC Sparks Programme

Criteria for Application

  • Open to Singapore Citizens (SC) only
  • Full-time undergraduates in any year of study
  • With Monthly Household Per Capita Income* of S$2,000 or less
  • Motivated Student


  • Each Study Grant is tenable for one year only
  • Recipients may reapply to be considered for the Grant in their subsequent year of study, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria
  • Each recipient shall be eligible for the Grant for a maximum of two (2) times throughout the duration of his/her candidature.

  • Insights into Singapore’s social landscape
  • Training by social service professionals in mentoring and basic counselling

Terms and Condition

  • Successful recipients are expected to commit a minimum of 25 hours to mentor youth/children from vulnerable backgrounds with the selected voluntary welfare organisation
  • Recipients are required to attend a full-day leadership and community training programme organised by GIC.
