Community Service-Learning (CSL)

Syahira PutriCheryl Tan

Projects under the CSL pathway are initiatives curated by staff. The pathway has been designed to maximise student’s learning and development throughout their involvement in the CSL initiative.

Students undertaking a CSL will work together with the respective staff advisor to determine the scope of the service-learning engagement with the community partner. Students are expected to be able to commit to the full duration of the project. While the actual length of commitment is dependent on the project, the minimum commitment period of 6 months facilitates professional networking with like-minded peers and community partners.

To support the student’s acquisition of skills and knowledge throughout their CSL journey, relevant learning opportunities have been curated by the staff advisor. The structured learning experience is key for community and personal development.

Students will also benefit from the close mentoring provided by the staff advisor. The staff advisor will also facilitate reflection sessions to guide the students in their journey of self-discovery and personal growth for meaningful community change.
