The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent supply chain shocks has highlighted that procurement and supply management are crucial to ensure the operational continuity of businesses and economies. The course gives insight into how procurement and supply management impacts the sustainability and competitiveness of organisations and the supply chain in a rapidly digitalised world. Students will learn how to make effective procurement operations and supply decisions to manage the vulnerability, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of the new supply chain normal.

• Review the execution of end-to-end procurement process for compliance with organisation’s policies and procedures, to minimise lapses and non-compliance.
• Recognise the areas of improvements in effectiveness and efficiency of procurement operations to reduce fraud, waste and error.
• Analyse the impact of macroenvironmental changes on procurement strategies and operations.
• Develop procurement operations performance reporting.
• Examine procurement requirements of relevant stakeholders for alignment with overall organisation and procurement strategy considering market conditions.
• Execute continuous procurement operations improvement initiatives.
