Synopsis

Managing & Leading to Achieve Organisational Excellence provides students with an opportunity to understand the fundamental principles of management, organisational behaviour and leadership. Students will reflect on, apply and evaluate their organisational issues through in-depth case study analyses and discussions. The course will teach students to analyse complex organisational situations and make decisions aimed at achieving optimal job performance and value maximization.The course will also discuss issues concerning managing and leading in diverse and multicultural environments. In addition, students will learn to apply the Business Excellence framework to help firms focus their efforts and resources to support and sustain business excellence. Students will learn the 10 key attributes of the Business Excellence framework: visionary leadership, customer-centric excellence, innovation focus, organisational and personal learning, valuing people and partners, agility, knowledge-driven system, corporate social responsibility, results orientation, and systems perspective. The impact of social media and digital social networks on management, communications, and business will also be examined.
