This is a 10 CU course that allows students to develop and hone their research skills. It also enables students to consolidate their overall learning in the programme by putting into practice all the skills and knowledge that they have obtained. The research project should culminate in a 10,000 word (excluding references) original research thesis that seeks to contribute scholarly knowledge to the fields of community leadership and/or social development issues. Students are expected to submit a written proposal before their research topic is approved and will be assigned an appropriate academic supervisor. The student is responsible for arranging regular consultations with their academic supervisor, with regular drafts submitted for discussion.
