Synopsis

Effective leadership involves accepting and responding positively to change. A consideration of ethical procedures related to the delivery of early childhood services is included in the course content. The thrust to provide high quality early childhood services with evidence of their effectiveness has caused professionals to analyse their teaching interactions and document best practices. The compelling evidence about the importance of the first three years of life as shown in research on brain development has brought about significant changes to programs for the 0-3 age group in order to facilitate early development. These robust research findings have flow on effects as professionals in leadership positions assist their staff in centres to respond effectively and ethically to needed changes.
