In SWK688 Applied Research Project in Social Work, students will have the option of doing an applied research project in lieu of two electives. Building on the basic research skills employed in the research and evaluation course, students work with the appointed supervisors to identify a problem in practice or an intervention that is recognised and for which more knowledge is needed and work on a project to develop more in-depth research skills and further explore the linkages between research, theory and practice. The length of the project is 8,000 words. The project is intended to provide students with advanced research experience and opportunities to add to the current knowledge of social work practice or policy.
