Synopsis

The first part of this course is designed to raise the awareness of the student to the various aspects of infrastructure financing relating to major transport infrastructure projects. Topics that will be covered include the role of public and private sector funding mechanisms including the role of PPP (public-private partnership) in infrastructure development. The identification and management of the different types of risk associated with infrastructure project financing are integral aspects of the delivery. The second part of this course focuses on project planning and management: describing the role of management within the context of civil and transport engineering projects. It covers basic management techniques and strategies and illustrates how these can be applied in the urban transport setting.
