Resilience

Singapore University of Social Sciences graduates from full-time undergraduate programmes in the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 can enjoy four (4) free modular courses (up to 20 credit units) at the University taken within three years after graduation. This scheme is developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and SkillsFuture Singapore, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic's impact upon the global economy and job market, and a more challenged employment prospect for fresh full-time graduates in the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021. The terms of the scheme are as follows:

Note : The Resilience Scheme will cease by end of January 2024 semester and all unclaimed courses will be forfeited and no appeals will be allowed. 

 

1. Who is eligible and what is the eligibility period?

All graduates of full-time undergraduate programmes from the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021.

The eligibility period is three years. For the Class of 2020, it is from the July Semester 2020 to January Semester 2023. For the Class of 2021, it is from the July Semester 2021 to January Semester 2024.

Please note the computation of eligibility is based on semester (January and July respectively) and not the convocation date.

 

2. How many free modular courses may each eligible graduate apply for?

The scheme will apply to a maximum of four courses (up to 20 credit units) per graduate once in their lifetime.

 

3. What other cost is involved?

Eligible applicants will need to pay a non-refundable *application fee at the prevailing rate of $60.00 before GST.

4. What courses qualify as eligible courses?

There are around 300 eligible courses under this Resilience Scheme. Please click here for the full list of courses.

The course listing is for information and does not constitute a contract. SUSS reserves the right to change, amend, supplement or cancel courses or change the schedule of courses. SUSS further reserves the right to change the curriculum, requirements and policies for a course without notice. This course listing should not be read as a guarantee of the courses set out herein.

 

5. How many seats are available for each course under this scheme?

A limited number of seats will be made available for each course in a semester. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

 

6. What will be awarded on successful completion of a course?

Upon the successful completion of a credit-bearing course, a course certificate will be issued. Applicants may apply for credit recognition when they enroll for a full undergraduate or graduate programme at Singapore University of Social Sciences. (Terms and Conditions apply)

When a course is completed without fulfilling the assessment requirements, a certificate of participation will be issued.

If you have completed the constituent courses of a Graduate Certificate (i.e. 15 credit units) with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.50, you may apply for the Graduate Certificate by completing and submitting the application form. 7. If an alumnus takes more than 4 courses, what course fees will apply?

Beyond the 4 free courses, full course fees will apply. Alumni concession is applicable.

 

8. What are the conditions for taking the courses?

Full-time graduate cohort from the Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 who are in the Resilience Scheme will not be eligible for the Alumni Continuing Education Plus (ACE+) Scheme.

Learner must be enrolled as a credit student.

Learners who have previously received government funding for a course are not eligible for further funding for the same course.

Government funding including SSG funding will be claimed for applicable courses.

Learners will adhere to the rules and regulations of study at the University. Pertinent information about the learners will be used by the University to claim course funding, where applicable.

Learners are required to achieve at least 75% attendance, as well as sit and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments/project.

Learners are required to complete all surveys and feedback related to the course.

 

9. How do applicants apply for the eligible courses?

Applicants are required to tick against the status box "Taken at SUSS" under Highest Education Details and key in "Claim for Resilience Scheme" under "Sponsorship" Column during registration.
