Synopsis

This course introduces participants the concept of resilience, particularly in exploring the variables that define resilience. Building upon the knowledge of concepts of resilience, participants will be made aware of the set of protective factors that they can develop to overcome adversity. Participants will learn how to increase their resilience by cultivating and strengthening their environmental and internal protective factors. Participants will also be introduced to key approaches of problem-solving, such as optimism, self regulation and cognitive agility. This course aims to equip participants with various methods and tools in overcoming problems and preparing them for change.

Who Should Attend

Participants with at least two to three years of working experience facing transformational changes and challenges in their work and employment. The course can be open to graduating students who will be entering into the workforce.

Trainer's Profile

Dr Yeo Chee ShinYeo Chee Shin has at least 10 years of conscious practice cultivating resilience in his own life and worked as an Assistant Professor in Taiwan for 6 years inspiring teenage and adult university students to apply resilience and overcome any difficulties encountered in their daily life. Blessed with strong belief through good association after completing his doctorate at The University of Melbourne, he is the most fortunate to realise the true welfare for everyone is to be resilient and not affected in a rapidly changing living environment.

  2. Application form
  3. Caregiver Training Grant application form – specifically for participants who are caregivers only

Course Fee

Course Fee for $1400

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
3 Additional subsidy for Singaporeans:  With effect from 1 January 2023, the GST rate will be revised from 7% to 8%. There will be no fee increase for Singaporeans taking SSG subsidized course(s) from 1 January to 31 December 2023.

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
  • The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
  • Singapore University of Social Sciences reserves the right to amend and/or revise the above schedule without prior notice
