Course Objectives

To equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand the sociological and cultural aspects of ageing and to think innovatively about creating an age-friendly workplace.

Participants should be able to:

  • Explain ethical concepts and theories from a Western and Asian perspective
  • Understand the benefit of ethics
  • Examine business ethics, the changing environment and stakeholder management
  • Discuss ethical treatment of employees
  • Analyse ethical dilemmas that arise with the ageing workforce
  • Discuss ethical issues arising from the application of the organisation's Due Process and Employment Contract
  • Debate employee and employer rights and responsibilities
  • Debate the conflict of interest in terms of salary, workload and other workplace issues between Gen X and Gen Y employees
  • Discuss the key arguments for and against the CSR

Teaching Faculty

  • Daniel Theyagu has a Bachelors degree in Law, Master in Education and a Diploma in English. He is an ACTA-certified corporate trainer and educator. As a lecturer, Daniel teaches a variety of Law based subjects for various Institutes of Higher Learning. He is an Associate Faculty at Singapore University of Social Sciences and teaches Ethics and CSR, Negotiation Skills, Family Law, Employment Law and Law of Succession.

Course Fee Subsidies

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Singaporean or Permanent Resident (Company or Self Sponsored) aged 21 years old and above
  2. Sponsoring companies must be registered and/or incorporated in Singapore and must fully sponsor the course fee
  3. Participants must:
    • achieve at least 75% attendance
    • complete and pass all required assessments

Participants who fail to meet the above requirements will have to pay for the subsidised course fee.
