Approaches to Teaching Early Childhood Aquatics begins with an overview of how infants and toddlers develop and presents scientific evidence to show how aquatic activity can benefit very young children’s overall growth and development. It also provides a range of topics that are fundamental to those learning to teach babies and toddlers in an aquatic environment – how to create safe and stimulating aquatic activities for parents and their children, understand how learning takes place, and what constitutes developmentally appropriate strategies for use with infants and toddlers. The sessions will comprise of a combination of theoretical discussion and practical sessions in the swimming pool to strengthen the theory and practice links for course participants.
