About the Workshop

This course aims to equip the attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to become a competent angel investor. It covers tech startup ecosystem brief, investment process, portfolio construction, deal flow, evaluation techniques, legal understanding, co-investment techniques and best practices for angel investments.

The course is targeted at potential angel investors and senior managers, professionals and advisors who wish to acquire knowledge of basic principles and practices in angel investing. Potential angel investors are investors who are keen to invest a minimum of SGD 20,000 every year.

Shao-Ning Leigh Huang
Co-founder, AngelCentral

Shao-Ning Leigh Huang set up AngelCentral (www.angelcentral.co) with two partners with the sole intention to provide strong investment pipelines to SouthEast Asian Angels and to provide good angel trainings. She has done quite a fair bit of startup advisory in the past few years, and thinks that it is now time to focus to support angels to better support startups in this area.

Der Shing Lim is a Co-founder and Partner of AngelCentral. Since 2009, he has been an active angel investor in technology startups. His goal is to help businesses, via experience sharing, to grow to their fullest potential. Currently, Mr Lim is a Venture Partner with Jungle Ventures, Seedplus and a non-Executive Director with Entrepreneur First. Between his wife, Shao-Ning Leigh Huang, and himself, they have invested directly in 20+ startups and indirectly in hundreds more via 7 VCs.
