The course will enable participants to understand the concepts and principles of productivity in the context of the digital workplace. Participants will acquire applicable knowledge to measure and apply basic productivity techniques to improve performance at the digital workplace.

Learning Outcomes

A. Knowledge and Understanding (Theory Component)

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the concepts, principles and practices of productivity for the digital workplace;
  • Describe the use of strategic and operational productivity measures for monitoring and evaluation of productivity performance at the workplace;
  • Recall various basic productivity techniques and know how to apply them at the workplace; and
  • Identify the key success factors for success management of productivity at the digital workplace.

B. Key Skills (Practical Component)

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Apply productivity measurement techniques to determine the performance of the workplace;
  • Identify opportunities for improving productivity at the workplace; and
  • Apply basic tools to improve their productivity performance at the digital workplace.

Trainer's Profile

Kelvin ChanMr Kelvin Chan is a Registered Management Consultant (RMC) certified under the Enterprise Singapore Consultant Quality Initiative by the RMC Certification Board in Singapore and Fellow Certified Management Consultant (CMC) of the Institute of Management Consultants (Singapore). He was awarded the Honorary Certified Productivity Practitioners Certification by the Asian Productivity Organization in 2015.

He is a SPRING-JPC Certified Productivity Consultant and SPRING Certified Business Excellence Consultant. He completed his Bachelor in Engineering (with Honours) degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from NTU in 1985 and has more than 30 years of experience in productivity-related subjects. Together with his consulting team, he has assisted more than 700 companies in Singapore.

He served on many occasions as the Chief Technical Expert on Productivity and Green Productivity for the Asian Productivity Organization since 1995. He has assisted many National Productivity Organisations in Asia and completed numerous training and consultancy assignments for the APO-Africa Productivity Partnership Project funded by the Government of Japan and Taiwan, and the APO-Colombia Development of Productivity Practitioners programme for the Centre of Science and Technology of Antioquia in Medellin. He has trained more than 1000 Productivity Consultants/Trainers from countries like Colombia, Burkina Faso, Swaziland, Gambia, Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, India, Iran, Fiji, Pakistan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand. He has been award the ‘ICMCI Academic Fellow’ for his significant contribution to thought leadership within the management consulting profession, supported by exemplary teaching and applied research, by ‘The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes’ (ICMCI) in 2017.

Course Fee

Course Fee for $1400

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees. 
3 Additional subsidy for Singaporeans:  With effect from 1 January 2023, the GST rate will be revised from 7% to 8%. There will be no fee increase for Singaporeans taking SSG subsidized course(s) from 1 January to 31 December 2023.

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and sit and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course
  • The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
  • Singapore University of Social Sciences reserves the right to amend and/or revise the above schedule without prior noticee.
