Synopsis

This programme provides an appreciation of how global trends such as ageing demographics, epidemiology of chronic diseases, increasing consumerism, rapidly advancing technology and pressures on cost containment are impacting healthcare managers and professionals everywhere. These trends are affecting both developing and developed countries’ health systems, across private and public sectors alike. In addition, the pace and scale of innovation and disruption in healthcare, particularly the impact of new science, new delivery models, automation and robotics, will introduce opportunities, challenges and new risks to all those working in the sector.

Participants will gain understanding of global trends in technology and innovation, their impact on all aspects of healthcare – from diagnostics to therapeutics, from regulation to financing, from hospitals to community-level health and wellness. Participants will also learn the basics of new in-demand skills and tools in the practice of modern healthcare management, investment and operation. Specifically in the area risk management, how within the new paradigm where risk is more than value protection - indeed "risk powers performance".

Trainer's Profile

Dr Loke Wai Chong

Dr Loke started his career career as a practicing physician, and after completing the Master of Medicine and Fellowship in Family Medicine, took on roles which would make broader strategic, system-level and global impact – at hospital and healthcare group / regional health system levels, then at national policymaking and funding level with the Ministry of Health and Singapore Economic Development Board, and finally global roles at KPMG, Temasek Investments and Deloitte.

As healthcare consultant and advisor, Dr Loke brings to clients two decades of experience spanning the entire healthcare ecosystem and value chain. He advises global investors, governments, NGOs, hospitals and life sciences companies, MNCs and startups; and creates solutions for business model innovation, organization transformation, test-bedding and deployment of technology, market entry and growth strategy, clinical quality and strategic risk management, cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

With his broad background, skills and network, he is continually “connecting the dots” across the continuum; designing new models and strategies to "move the big dots" for businesses and populations; and identifying the next disruptive innovation which will transform healthcare.

Course Fee

Course Fee for $2000

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Workfare Training Support: Singaporeans aged 35 and above (13 years and above for Persons with Disabilities) and earning not more than $2,000 per month may enjoy subsidies up to 95% of the course fees.
3 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
4Additional subsidy for Singaporeans:  With effect from 1 January 2023, the GST rate will be revised from 7% to 8%. There will be no fee increase for Singaporeans taking SSG subsidized course(s) from 1 January to 31 December 2023.


  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course.
  • The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
