Cloud computing allows us to use IT services as conveniently as using utilities like water and electricity. Cloud computing delivers ready-to-use IT services over the Internet. The Internet with cloud technology today is the grid of web portals or apps where users can conveniently access services and data. As cloud computing services mature both commercially and technologically, it will be easier for companies as well as individuals to reap the benefits of cloud if they understand the fundamentals of what technologies the cloud is made up of.

A. Knowledge and Understanding (Theory Component)
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the characteristics of cloud computing
- Differentiate the differences between virtualisation and cloud computing
- Explain possible security threats to common network and application protocols
- Categorise information security threats
B. Key Skills (Practical Component)
At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Apply fundamental concepts in information security to protect information system
- Analyse security risks and how to mitigate vulnerabilities

Dr Lillian Koh
Dr Lilian Koh is the CEO of Fintech Academy & Director at Centre of Research and Innovation at NTUitive and Advisor, Singapore Digital Chamber of Commerce. After 17 years @ Ministry of Education and 17 years @ Nanyang Technological University, she became the CEO of Fintech Academy. Her other previous appointments were Faculty Associate at A*Star, Chair, Centre for Financial Literacy, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Consultant to NHG, Pearson, Citigroup and World Bank.
Patrick Low
Patrick Low is currently the Principal Training Consultant at FinTech Academy and the Principal Architect at Huawei, and adjunct lecturer and trainer with Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore University of Social Science (SUSS) and Huawei University. Bringing with him over 15 years of ICT experiences, he has established himself as a thought leader in the domain of Data Center and Cloud Computing technologies.
In his current role at Huawei, Patrick ensures that the business strategy, along with any relevant trends, is expressed in the enterprise's processes and systems. His responsibilities are to help Huawei's customers and partners identify and develop the right future ICT transformation solutions and ecosystem, to build a better connected world.
Before joining Huawei, Patrick worked with major IT Technology providers including IBM and HP specializing in data center and cloud computing. He has successful led several high-profile Cloud Data Center tender projects and CxO engagement activities in the region.

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
