About the Trainers

Dr Lau Kong CheenDr Lau Kong Cheen
Dr Lau is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, under the Marketing Programme. His key areas of interest and expertise is in brand management, digital marketing, business strategy and consumer behaviour.

Prior to joining SUSS, Dr Lau has spent more than 10 years in the industry with experience spanning across public and private sectors. He has had immense exposure in consulting, market research in consumer insights, business development and client marketing. He has consulted for clients from MNCs and SMEs in the region. As part of his consulting practice, he has also conducted multiple training workshops for many of his clients to help them to reflect and generate ideas based on concepts learnt. Dr Lau holds a PhD in Marketing from the Curtin University in Australia coupled with a MBA (with Distinction) from the University of Surrey (UK). He completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honours from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. More Information >

Ms Jess TanMs Jess Tan
Ms Jess Tan is a Senior Faculty and Lecturer in the School of Business Unit at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. She has more than fifteen years of experience in data analysis and data mining. She had previously worked in the private and public sectors, leading and spearheading several analytics initiatives. Her main research and teaching interests are in applications of data mining and learning analytics. More Information >


Chua Wei LunMr Chua Wei Lun
Mr Chua is the Head of Seller Engagement at Lazada Singapore. He is a passionate trainer with 8 years of training experience and has nearly 3 years of Commerce exposure in Lazada. He is also a pioneer in launching Lazada University Programmes in Singapore.

1 Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Singaporeans aged 40 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.
2 Enhanced Training Support for SMEs: SME-sponsored employees (Singaporean Citizens and PRs) aged 21 and above may enjoy subsidies up to 90% of the course fees.

  • Participants are required to achieve at least 75% attendance and/or sit and pass any prescribed examinations/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.
  • Participants are required to complete all surveys and feedbacks related to the course
  • The course fees are reviewed annually and may be revised. The University reserves the right to adjust the course fees without prior notice.
  • Singapore University of Social Sciences reserves the right to amend and/or revise the above schedule without prior notice

Certificate

Participant will receive a Lazada-SUSS Certificate in E-Commerce upon fulfilling course requirements.

Application Procedure

For LAZADA-SUSS Certificate in E-Commerce (Level 2) – Data-Mining for Decision Making, please submit the following documents to cet@suss.edu.sg by 15 October 2020:

  1. Coloured copy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or "Employment"/"S" Pass for foreign applicant
  2. Application form

To be eligible for the company sponsored "Enhanced Training Support for SMEs", please also submit the following documents:

  • SME Declaration Letter
  • ACRA or Skillsconnect profile to prove that the SME meeta all of the following eligibility criteria:
    • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
    • At least 30% local shareholding by Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
    • Employment size of not more than 200 (at group level) or with annual sales turnover (at group level) of not more than $100 million
    • Trainees must be hired in accordance with the Employment Act and fully sponsored by their employers for the course
    • Trainees must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
