FAQs

What is the purpose of the Graduate Admission Card? 

You will be given two graduate admission cards when you collect your Academic Regalia at Serangoon Broadway Studio. The cards are important because:

  • They are required for registration of attendance on the day of the ceremony. Please remember to bring your admission cards.
  • Upon registration at the registration kiosk, your seat number will be issued and printed on a sticker. Please paste the sticker on one of your cards.
  • While you line up at the side aisle, please pass your first graduate admission card to the floor usher before approaching the stage.
  • On stage, please submit your second graduate admission card to the Card Marshal. The Dean will then read out your name from the card.

I have misplaced my Graduate Admission Cards, what should I do?

On the day of the ceremony, please obtain replacement cards at the General Enquiries Counter during registration of attendance.

How can my guests (parents, family, friends, etc) attend the Ceremony?

Every guest you bring will require an admission ticket. Each Graduand is entitled to 2 complimentary tickets which include a tea reception which is served after the ceremony. Graduands may request for additional tickets priced at S$16 nett per adult or S$8 nett per child aged 6 to 12. The extra tickets (if available) will be issued on a first come, first served basis.

How do I get tickets for my guests?

You should indicate the number of guest tickets you require when you register your attendance on the Convocation website via the Registration Portal. Your ticket order will be reserved under your name.

How do I collect and make payment for my guest tickets?

After you have ordered your guest tickets online, you may collect and make payment for your guest tickets at Serangoon Broadway Studio during the collection of your Academic Regalia.

Is the food served at the reception halal?

The food served at the tea reception by the caterer is certified halal.

Do I have to wear the Academic Regalia?

The wearing of the Academic Regalia is compulsory for all graduates receiving their degree scrolls at the ceremony.

Can I rent my Academic Regalia from other studios?

The Academic Regalia for rental are customised for the Singapore University of Social Sciences. We have appointed Serangoon Broadway Studio as our official gown management studio. We are unable to advise whether the Academic Regalia rented out by other studios will be similar.

If I am not attending the Convocation, can I still rent the academic regalia?

If you are not attending the ceremony, you may rent your academic regalia from Serangoon Broadway the following month after the ceremony.

Rental of academic regalia is chargeable at S$100 and you are required to make a S$150 refundable deposit. The gown has to be returned within seven days.

How do i reset the my password for student portal?

For password reset, please access the Student Portal log in page and click on "Forget Password".
