SIM University joined hands with the International Forum for IT in Tamil (INFITT) to organise the 14th Tamil Internet Conference, which was held at UniSIM campus from 30 May to 1 June 2015. The conference attracted about 350 delegates from Singapore, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka, the United States, Australia and Europe, and was officially declared open by Mr S Iswaran, Minister, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister of Home Affairs and Second Minister of Trade and Industry. The event included the main conference, an exhibition and community-related activities. The conference themes were Computer-aided Language Teaching, Natural Language Processing and Mobile Technology as applied to the Tamil language. A team of eager students from UniSIM's BA Tamil Language and Literature programme were on hand to help out as volunteers throughout the event, which gave both students and delegates the chance to learn from and interact with each other.
