Accreditation Of Public Service Translators And Interpreters

On March 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked between SUSS and the Public Service Division, Prime Minister’s Office to raise the standards of translation and interpretation in public service.

The MOU bore fruit in April 2018, with two public service employees awarded certificates for passing the rigorous examinations taken by translators and interpreters working in the State Court, Supreme Court and Ministry of Communication and Information. The recipients were among six who passed the Certification Examination for Professional Translators (CEPT) and the Certification Examination for Professional Interpreters (CEPI) held in November 2017, which tested their skills in translating and interpreting between Chinese and English and between Malay and English.
