The event is sponsored by SPSS BI (Singapore) (now known as Sift Analytics Group) who is the MOU partner for the Business Analytics programme. Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of SIM University, and Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of SIM University, were also present to grace the event. The theme for this year is "Real World Analytics, Real World Results". There were five presentations and six posters featuring applications of business analytics in local organisations. Some of the applications include text mining of quality service emails in the public sector, use of data mining to detect procurement fraud and use of business analytics in manufacturing for root-cause analysis just to name a few. The event saw a large number of enthusiastic participants from various organisations and government agencies who were either new to business analytics or have embarked on the journey of applying business analytics in their organisations.
