The 4th Analytics Education Forum - a platform for students of SIM University's (UniSIM) Business Analytics programme to showcase their applied projects to business analytics industry professionals - was held on the morning of July 23 at Marina Mandarin Singapore. Professor Koh Hian Chye, Assistant Provost of UniSIM College, graced the event, which was jointly sponsored by UniSIM and Sift Analytics Group (formerly SPSS BI (Singapore)), the industry partner supporting the programme. The theme for this year's forum was "Smarter Analytics for Smarter Decisions". There were five slide presentations and seven poster presentations featuring real-world applications of business analytics in local organisations. The projects included applications of data mining in sensing customer demand and in automatic assessment of the quality of marine sensor data, as well as applications of text mining to patients' and tenants' feedback.
