On 20 April 2016, the School of Business at SIM University hosted Mr Asger Daugbjerg, Partner and Vice President of GlobeEight.com, to share his insights on digital marketing with our students. Mr Daugbjerg has extensive business and consumer experience from working in leading global advertising agencies in Europe and Asia where he was responsible for several leading global fast-moving consumer goods and consumer electronic accounts, to advising clients on business and brand strategies, marketing communication and innovation. He also teaches Marketing and Social Media in the Master of Business Administration programme at International Management Education in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mr Daugbjerg kicked off his talk by stating that most marketers seem to have fallen in love with digital marketing as if it has the answers to all marketing prayers. According to him, however, whilst digital offers some new opportunities and opens up new dialogue options with consumers, the truth is that, in many ways, digital should be treated like all other communication vehicles. He went on to share a few digital campaigns that worked and some which did not work. He also discussed how marketers can better decide when to include digital in their communication package.
