Mr Koh Chin Seng, Vice President, Human Resource of ST Aerospace was in UniSIM on 2 June 2012 to present a talk on performing human resource due diligence in China for mergers and acquisitions. The 2 hour seminar, the first to be jointly organised by Schools of Business, Human Development & Social Science and Science & Technology covered topics such as the objectives, phases and activities of due diligence, the conduct of due diligence itself, the negotiation process and HR strategies. Mr Koh, who has more than 30 years of experience as a HR practitioner, candidly shared his personal experience on the various mergers and acquisitions scenarios he has handled in the 11 years he recently spent in China. From the positive feedback and enthusiastic response from the audience, it was obvious that they found the talk both interesting and enlightening. Mr Koh recently co-authored a book, entitled "HR Due Diligence for Merger & Acquisition in China". The book is available for loan from the SIM library.
