On August 26 during the National Day Rally, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that SIM University (UniSIM) will be participating in the Government’s plan to increase the number of publicly-funded full-time university places. PM Lee also announced that part-time students at UniSIM will now be eligible for government bursaries and loans, similar to their counterparts at the Singapore autonomous universities. More details will be shared in due course.This follows his visit to the University on August 7 that served to inform him about UniSIM and the role it has been playing in Singapore’s university sector to date. This is a significant development for UniSIM, enabling it to play a greater role in Singapore’s university education landscape.
