On 30 April 2014, SIM University (UniSIM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Singapore Sports School (SSP) – a specialised independent school under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) – to jointly support young and high potential sportspersons in pursuit of higher education at UniSIM. Under this MOU, talented Through-train Programme student-athletes identified by SSP will be able to take UniSIM's Continuing Education and Training courses and earn academic credit units that will be recognised when the student-athletes pursue UniSIM’s undergraduate programmes.The event was graced by Ms Yeoh Chee Yan, Permanent Secretary of the MCCY, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SSP. Ms Yeoh, together with Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM, witnessed the inking of the agreement by Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of UniSIM; and Mr Tan Teck Hock, Principal of SSP.
