The book project is a collaboration between SLA and UniSIM to develop a unique reference book that deals with the challenges and issues faced by the logistics and supply chain industry in Singapore using the case study approach. Mr Quek Keng Liang, SLA chairman, was on hand to give the symbolic kick-off, followed by Mr Thomas Sim, First Deputy Chairman, who gave the opening address. Assoc Prof Tan Yan Weng, Head of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme presented the guidelines for the chapter authors who are industry experts from the logistics and supply chain industry. Also in attendance was Ms Samantha Su, Director (Services and Biomedical), SPRING Singapore and several members from the SLA.
The launch of the book is planned to coincide with SLA's hosting of the FIATA World Congress in Singapore in October 2013 as well as the new signing of the MOU between SLA and UniSIM after 5 years.
