Student Orientation (Jul 2013)

As with all of life's important events, meticulous planning improves the chances of success. For the new freshmen of July 2013 intake, the start of their learning journey was marked by the Student Orientation, "Garden of Opportunities" event.

Taking place on a Saturday, 13th July 2013, the student orientation was an event put together for students to equip themselves with the essentials needed for a smooth journey in SIM University (UniSIM).

Starting with the welcome speech from the Deans of the respective Schools, followed by the introduction of academic and administrative staff, students were then guided through the e-resources available in the library. Next in line was a briefing by the respective Heads of Programmes where students were given an overview of their selected programme and pointers on maximising their academic experience in UniSIM.

The outdoors was brought into the Atrium, where a garden like setting awaited the new students to lounge in its chairs and spend the afternoon chatting with their fellow course-mates, seniors and members of the University's Management and Faculty. Interactive booths such as Student Portal, Blackboard and Library Resources etc introduced students to important aspects of learning.

The day drew to a close with the students taking home a plethora of essential information, goodie bags, and keepsake shots to mark the start of their learning journey in SIM University.

We warmly welcome our freshmen and wish them an exciting and fruitful journey with SIM University.
