The first day of studies can be a daunting experience especially for adult learners who may have left school some time back and took up the courage to continue their studies again to pursue higher education. UniSIM's half day orientation programme was organised to equip our new students with loads of information and tips to ease their learning journey. The freshmen "checked-in" at the Dean's Briefing venues for useful tips shared by the Dean of the school, followed by important messages from their respective Heads of Programme. The atrium saw its transformation from the usual pedestrian walkway to a café transit lounge, to welcome our freshmen onboard! The venue became a 'connector'; providing space and opportunities for freshmen to socialise with new friends, student ambassadors, the UniSIM staff and their Head of Programme. The 4 booths at the atrium (Library Resources, "Check-in" Survival Guide, Teaching & Learning Centre and "Are You e-Ready?") were specially set up for the freshmen to gain exposure to available services. The Blackboard briefing provided exposure on the important platform for students to obtain their assignment information and additional study materials. By the end of the day, our freshmen went home, having spent a fruitful day, bringing back with them useful information and a goodie bag of gifts to begin their new learning semester. We welcome all our freshmen to UniSIM and wish them all the best in their studies!
