On 10 November 2014, SIM University (UniSIM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CIMB Securities – the retail securities business of CIMB Group, which is a leading ASEAN universal bank, the largest Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) based investment bank and one of the world's largest Islamic banks.Present at the ceremony were Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM; and Ms Carol Fong, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Securities, who witnessed the signing of the MOU by Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of UniSIM; and Mr Andrew Ler, Head of Regional Retail Business at CIMB Securities.With the inking of the agreement, UniSIM's Bachelor of Science in Finance programme students will gain access to CIMB Securities resources, opportunities and platforms that will enable them to gain invaluable experience in equity securities investment through hands-on practice, and real-life trading games, so as to prepare them to become successful investment professionals in the competitive finance industry.
