On 9 December 2015, SIM University (UniSIM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), which was acting on behalf of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), forging a partnership in research on workforce development and lifelong learning.With IAL championing research to understand and support workforce development in Singapore, and UniSIM focusing on research on applied work with industry relevance, both institutions see the potential to leverage strengths to contribute to the continuing education and training sector. Besides potential research programmes in learning analytics and pedagogical practices, IAL and UniSIM will also explore means to strengthen the capabilities of educators and researchers, including through academic exchanges and co-hosting of international experts.Professor Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of UniSIM; and Ms Hui Mei San, Executive Director of IAL, were the signatories of the MOU. Joining them at the ceremony held at the School of the Arts, Singapore, were witnesses Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM; and Mr Ng Cher Pong, Chief Executive of WDA.
