On 14 January 2012, UniSIM signed an agreement with the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) to launch a new student chapter at UniSIM's School of Science and Technology (SST). With this, students in SST's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programme can leverage on the numerous networking and training opportunities offered by the SCS. This collaboration builds on the key strengths and unique features of the ICT programme, which incorporate professional certification courses as part of the degree curriculum - a feature not found in other universities.Associate Professor Philip Cheang, Dean of SST, noted that this further affirmed UniSIM as "the university of choice for working adults". He said: "This arrangement is just one of the many on-going efforts by SST to partner and network with all industry segments and to provide students with the profession-based education to enhance their employability, competency and marketability to support a vibrant economy." SCS Honorary Secretary Haresh Khoobchandani said: "We are happy that this collaboration with UniSIM will provide opportunities for our 22,000 members to interact, and share knowledge and experiences with one another."
