SIM University (UniSIM) and the Science Centre Board (SCB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 22 November 2012 to work together on the promotion of mathematics, science and technology to schools and the general public. The MOU was signed by Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM, and Associate Professor Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive of the SCB.Under this five-year partnership, UniSIM’s School of Science and Technology will collaborate with the SCB for the development and design of potential outreach programmes for schools, as well as develop interactive exhibits and offer speakers for public talks at the Science Centre. The fruit of the collaboration is an exhibit called ‘Pi - Search’ - an interactive software by which one can explore the first 250 million decimal places of the well-known number π. With this, UniSIM plays a part in contributing to the interest of students and young mathematical, science and technology talents to learn more about man-made technology and creation.
