With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 23 September 2011 between UniSIM and the Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS), UniSIM became Singapore's first institution of higher learning to offer courses leading to the FPAS 'Certified Financial Planner' (CFP) designation.
Upon completing a specified set of courses, UniSIM students need only take a challenge paper at the FPAS to obtain full CFP certification. The CFP designation granted by the FPAS is aligned with the global CFP designation awarded by the CFP Board in the United States. This collaboration will help increase the pool of financial planning professionals in Singapore. The MOU also provides a platform for enhancing collaboration between UniSIM and the FPAS through case-writing and the institution of scholarships and awards.
Signatories of the MOU (left to right): Professor Koh Hian Chye, Dean, School of Business, UniSIM, andMs Kimmis Pun, President, FPAS.
