On 24 September 2013, SIM University (UniSIM) sealed an agreement with the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) to sponsor outstanding paddlers with higher educational opportunities at the University. Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower, together with Professor Cheong Hee Kiat, President of UniSIM; and Er Dr Lee Bee Wah, Member of Parliament for the Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency and President of STTA, witnessed the memorandum of understanding signing by Associate Professor Yip Woon Kwong, Registrar of UniSIM; and Ms Wong Hui Leng, Chief Executive Officer of STTA.The "UniSIM-STTA Sports Leader Sponsorship" programme is for five years and will fully cover the tuition fees of two players per year for the entire duration of their continuing education and training modular courses and undergraduate programmes at UniSIM.
