UniSIM Welcomes Hong Kong Visitors

On 11 March 2015, SIM University (UniSIM) welcomed an eight-member delegation led by Ms Jane Curzon Lo, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Security Service Vocational Training Board. The delegation included members from the government-based Hong Kong Security Association, ASIS International Hong Kong Chapter, International Professional Security Association (Hong Kong), and the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education.

The group was hosted by the School of Business (SBIZ). Associate Professor Lee Pui Mun, Dean of SBIZ, gave the opening address and answered several questions raised by the Hong Kong delegates. The delegates were given a briefing on UniSIM's Bachelor of Science in Management and Security Studies programme, as well as the Security Studies minor.

The Hong Kong Security Service Vocational Training Board has over 250,000 students and the Hong Kong Government intends to widen the avenues for Chinese students who are interested to read diplomas and higher diplomas in Security.

UniSIM was the only Singapore university that the delegation visited because of its clear focus in management and security studies. They also visited some local security agencies as well as several Singapore Police Force-related units. After a tour of the campus, the Hong Kong visitors were treated to some local delicacies.
