The second installment of the Chinese Talkies Panels saw the sharing of movie making experience between directors from China and Singapore. The discussion panel was held on 5 May 2013 at The Arts House to some 40 movie buffs. The topic discussed was "Writing and Directing for Chinese Cinema: The Balance between Art and Commerce". The speakers from China were Hao Jie (SINGLE MAN, THE LOVE SONGS OF TIEDAN) and Wang Jing (FENG SHUI), while the local directors were Han Yew Kwang (18 GRAMS OF LOVE, WHEN HAINAN MEETS TEOCHEW), Chai Yee Wei (BLOOD TIES, TWISTED) with Anthony Chen (AH MA, ILO ILO) as the moderator.A lively sharing ensued covering topics such as what constitute an art or commercial film; differences in censorship between China and Singapore, the pros and cons of adaptation from literary works or original scripts, etc.Please click click here for a recording of the discussion session.
配合首届新加坡华语电影节的第二场“华语电影面对面座谈会”于2013年5月5日(星期日)假旧国会大厦艺术之家举行。此座谈会邀请了来自中国和本地的导演共同对“华语电影编导论坛:艺术与商业之间”这一主题进行探讨。参与座谈会的中国导演有郝杰(《光棍儿》、《美姐》)、王竞(《万箭穿心》)、本地导演则有韩耀光(《爱情十八克》、《当海南遇上潮州》)、蔡于位(《还魂》、《撞鬼》)。座谈会的主席为本地导演陈哲艺(《阿嬷》、《爸妈不在家》)。约40名影迷出席了此座谈会。主讲人以自身的拍片经验和出席者进行了一场深入而生动的对话。探讨的课题包括如何在商业于艺术之间取得平衡,两地电影审查制度的异同,电影剧本的创造和改编等。请点击此观赏座谈会录影。
