The logistics and supply chain management sector is an essential service and a key pillar of Singapore's economy. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown just how vulnerable supply chains are. Industry 4.0 and digitalisation are impacting supply chains in a big way. The boom in e-commerce and online shopping (fuelled by the pandemic) has led to the demand for innovative logistics solutions. Increasing intra-Asian trade, due to rapid urbanisation and the rise of the affluent middle class in Asia, has led to the demand for logistics services in the region. There are opportunities for supply chain professionals to re-think, re-configure and re-imagine supply chains to deliver more accurate, responsive, safer and responsible solutions.
The Supply Chain Management programme provides foundational business knowledge and specialised skills in logistics and supply chain management to meet the needs of the industry. Partnering with the Singapore Logistics Association (SLA), the curriculum is designed with a blend of theory and industry practice and aligned with the Skills Framework for Logistics to equip students with problem-solving, decision-making, digital and innovation-thinking skills to manage the flow of goods and services through the supply chain.
