Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering is a direct honours programme focusing on the application of engineering techniques in biological sciences and medicine. Students will be trained in core biomedical engineering, and specialised biomedical engineering areas of biomedical instrumentation and medical imaging.

You may pursue Biomedical Engineering as a single subject or in combination with a Minor.

This is a direct honours programme; graduating students who meet the honours eligibility criteria will be awarded the respective honours classification. To graduate, students are required to complete a total of 170 credit units ( cu) of courses, inclusive of 10 cu of SUSS core courses.
The breakdown of the cu to be completed is:
BSc Biomedical Engineering with Paramedicine and Emergency Response MinorThis is a direct honours programme; graduating students who meet the honours eligibility criteria will be awarded the respective honours classification. The curriculum is structured such that:
(Students to complete 40 cu of elective, with at least 10 cu of Level 3 courses)
The programme is suitable for practising professionals who are currently working in medical and healthcare industries or related areas and wish to upgrade his/her academic qualifications from diploma to degree.
Graduates from this programme are suitable for employment in the medical device/electronics industry, hospitals, private research organisations, and positions involving direct contact with healthcare, rehabilitation, and human performance.
