Synopsis
The key concept of microlearning is to deliver learning content in bite-sized units. Implemented with mobile technology, microlearning provides learners with great flexibility to learn with pockets of free time in their daily schedules. This workshop aims to introduce the design and use of microlearning for teaching and learning in the tertiary education setting and contextualised to how microlearning can be introduced in the teaching and learning space at SUSS. Participants of the workshop will also have the chance to experience microlearning as well as a chance to design bite-sized learning activities.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- describe the definition, purposes and features of microlearning
- discuss the main design principles when planning microlearning activities
- evaluate the pros and cons of microlearning
- design bite-sized learning activities for tertiary education students and adult learners
