Synopsis
This is an interactive workshop where you will explore a proven problem-solving framework and delve into the art of designing and facilitating effective problem-solving experiences. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, you will learn practical strategies to scaffold your students’ development of critical thinking and solution-oriented mindset.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:- use real-world problems as starting point for achieving curricular and life-wide goals.
- design effective problem-solving experiences using the 6-stage problem-solving framework.
- create conceptual, instructional and resource scaffolds to support the learning of course content.
- utilize metacognition and feedback scaffolding prompts to encourage goal setting, strategic planning, and agile thinking.
- employ peer collaboration scaffolds to encourage team-based problem-solving.
- integrate scaffolds within the problem-solving process to ensure attainment of curricular and life-wide goals.
