Synopsis 

This is an interactive workshop where you will explore a proven problem-solving framework and delve into the art of designing and facilitating effective problem-solving experiences. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, you will learn practical strategies to scaffold your students’ development of critical thinking and solution-oriented mindset.

Learning Outcomes 

At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:

1. use real-world problems as starting point for achieving curricular and life-wide goals.
2. design effective problem-solving experiences using the 6-stage problem-solving framework.
3. create conceptual, instructional and resource scaffolds to support the learning of course content.
4. utilize metacognition and feedback scaffolding prompts to encourage goal setting, strategic planning, and agile thinking.
5. employ peer collaboration scaffolds to encourage team-based problem-solving.
6. integrate scaffolds within the problem-solving process to ensure attainment of curricular and life-wide goals.
