Provides strategic guidance, ensuring growth, good governance, and alignment with the university’s mission. Comprising distinguished leaders from various fields, the Board plays a crucial role in shaping the university’s direction and upholding the highest standards of governance.

Mr Kadir Maideen Mohamed was appointed as the Chief Executive (CE) of MUIS on 1 Nov 2021.

Mr Kadir joined MUIS on 4 Jan 2021 as the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), where he was tasked to oversee three different aspects of the organization, namely the Strategic Engagement cluster, Education cluster and Human Capital cluster. As DCE, Mr Kadir provides leadership and guidance to the three clusters that he overseas in the policy development, execution and coordination efforts. In addition, he was also leading the engagement with the mosque leaders in the Mosque and Community Development cluster. Some of the key projects he managed include the engagement of multiple external stakeholders, madrasah curriculum and development, streamlining human resource operations and gradual opening of mosques for prayers.

Mr Kadir was previously the Commander, Corporate Services Hub (West) in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). In his 27 years of service, he has risen to the rank of Assistant Commissioner and held several key leadership positions including the Commander of the elite Disaster Assistance & Rescue Team (DART). He also actively contributes to disaster preparedness and response efforts coordinated by ASEAN and the United Nations. He continues to serve the Malay/Muslim community as Chairperson of M3@Bedok and as Chairperson of the HomeTeamNS East Clubhouse Development Committee.

Mr Kadir graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (1994), and has a Master of Science in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from University of Leicester, United Kingdom (2010).
