Introduction
The DEAL model (Ash and Clayton 2009) facilitates deeper cognition, critical thinking and perspective transformation. Following 3 steps of structured approach, students take responsibility for their own learning and act on their learning through reflection.
Objectives
To examine student learning outcomes from NIE301 across a semester of service-learning participation using the DEAL Model for critical reflection.
RQ1: Does DEAL enhance depth of learning over time?
RQ2: Does DEAL enhance knowledge and skill development (VSK)?
