Potest Qui Vult – He who wills, can. It’s a quiet but powerful reminder that intention, paired with effort, can lead to change—both personally and in service to others.
I first came across SUSS Law School in 2016, during a quieter chapter of my life as a stay-at-home dad. The School's aim was to train mid-career professionals who wanted to make the switch to law. Having previously worked in the Singapore Prison Service and being a strong believer in lifelong learning, something about SUSS’s mission spoke to me. Going back to school then felt like the right place and the right time.
Balancing family life with the demands of law school wasn’t easy. The transition was mentally and emotionally intense. But it taught me how to manage time, adapt quickly, and persevere under pressure.
Serving as a student representative gave me the chance to speak up for my peers and be part of shaping the student experience. That sense of shared purpose stayed with me.
Joining the Alumni Advisory Committee feels like a continuation of the conversation. I hope to support others through mentorship and help build a culture where alumni uplift each other - through time, knowledge, or resources.
