“Every act of kindness has the power to create ripples of positive change within our community.”

I first joined the Juris Doctor Law Programme at SUSS while working full-time in a completely different field. Despite its intensity, the evening classes offered a rare flexibility that made it possible to take the leap - transforming what felt like a daunting switch into a doable one.

Balancing studies, work, and family was tough, but what made the journey especially meaningful was the community I found along the way. Many of my peers were fellow working adults navigating their own transitions, bringing with them stories, perspectives, and a shared sense of purpose. Our lecturers understood the realities we faced beyond the classroom, and their support made all the difference.

Some of my most enduring memories aren’t tied to lectures or exams, but to the late-night study groups, the honest conversations, and the camaraderie that came from knowing we were all in this together. In a cohort filled with mid-career professionals, what bonded us was a quiet determination to grow, to serve, and to reinvent.

Joining the Alumni Advisory Committee is my way of giving back to the community that gave me the courage to pursue this path. SUSS gave me a renewed purpose, a mindset shaped by perseverance, and a network of people who continue to inspire - it shaped how I show up for others, just as others have shown up for me.

“Every act of kindness has the power to create ripples of positive change within our community.” This belief is what drives my involvement in volunteer work and philanthropic causes. Just as I was once supported in my journey, I hope to be a part of someone else’s.
