“SUSS had given me a second chance and taught me that kindness can never be given away because it always comes back."

I was pursuing Accountancy full-time at SUSS when family obligations required me to put my studies on hold in 2014. In 2016, thanks to the support of Professor Emeritus Koh Hian Chye, I was given the opportunity to resume my education part-time, a second chance I’ve never taken for granted.

With the support of dedicated lecturers and professors, I persevered. Their patience, passion, and willingness to guide me beyond the classroom made all the difference. SUSS’s applied learning model equipped me with the real-world skills needed for a meaningful career in corporate accounting.

I’ve carried forward the lesson that kindness, when given freely, creates a ripple. It returns, often in unexpected ways, and it’s meant to be paid forward.

Now, as a member of the SUSS Alumni Advancement Committee, I hope to mentor and encourage students facing academic or personal hurdles. Because sometimes, all someone needs is a little support to begin again and SUSS taught me the power of that.
