“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” - (Carl Rogers)
With over 15 years of professional experience in the education and career services industries, Yi Ling has learned that we are united by common hopes and fears, regardless of age or status.
She is familiar with pivots. As an educator, she taught a variety of subjects – including life skills and well-being – in primary and secondary schools, polytechnic and university. As a career counsellor, she enjoys journeying with clients towards greater clarity. Through it all, she loves coaching people, walking with them towards their values and dreams.
Yi Ling is working towards a Master of Counselling. She has a Specialist Diploma in Career Counselling, Master of Education and Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) with Honours. Just like learning, she is keen on helping people comprehend career development as a lifelong process instead of a single decision (NCDA, 2024).
As a career mentor, Yi Ling believes every individual has worth. Beyond following trends or groupthink, she coaches students to explore their vocational personality and interests, strengthen their self-efficacy and approach career development proactively.
