Overcoming Challenges, Embracing Growth: Kohilavani's LFGC Journey

Kohilavani's journey with the Lead For Good Carnival (LFGC) was more than just an event – it was a transformative experience. "One of the most important milestones in my university life was reviving my confidence," she recalls. The loss of her mother who was a significant source of encouragement and confidence in her life. It had a profound impact on Kohilavani, leading to a period of self-doubt that extended into both her academic and professional pursuits for nearly two years.

Her involvement in the LFGC planning committee proved to be a turning point. "My student mentors and teammates were incredibly supportive, creating a nurturing and encouraging environment," she shares. "Their guidance and understanding helped me rediscover my confidence and embrace my talents."

The LFGC, a collaborative effort with 19 other student clubs, presented numerous challenges. Yet, Kohilavani embraced these challenges, learning valuable leadership and teamwork skills. "It was a journey of self-discovery," she reflects, "where I learned to embrace my strengths and address my shortcomings. I realised that true success lies in the pursuit of continuous growth and learning from every experience."

"Finding fulfillment in the journey itself"

The culmination of their efforts was a resounding success. The LFGC was not only a rewarding experience for participants but also garnered significant recognition, including the RAISE Merit Award. "This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team," she says. "It was a humbling experience to be acknowledged by other students and to witness the positive impact of our collaborative efforts."

For Kohilavani, success transcends traditional metrics. "I used to equate success with academic achievements and external validation," she admits. "However, I now understand that true success lies in finding fulfillment in the journey itself. When you pursue your passions with dedication and a growth mindset, recognition and admiration often follow."

Kohilavani's journey with the LFGC serves as a powerful reminder that personal growth and meaningful contributions can emerge from even the most challenging circumstances.
